Hi, Bill Herring here. This blog brought to you by a guy that believes sponsorship management requires the broadest possible set of marketing skills. A fascinating blend of all marketing disciplines, that should be driven by business objectives, builds a brand and makes customers “sticky.”
What have I worked on? My background includes managing sponsorships of these properties:
- BMW Sauber Formula One team
- Sporting events including major marathons, triathlons and cycling
- Entertainment events including Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show and a Frank Sinatra concert in Hawaii (yes, that goes back a few years)
- Cause marketing programs including leadership on the formation of Dell’s environmental cause program, as well as International Special Olympics
- And evaluation of sponsorship opportunities with numerous other properties including the Vancouver and London Olympic Games, a leatherback sea turtle race, and the Davos World Economic Forum. You can judge which of the last two provide the better value!
